IS Human Health – A.A.
The Human Health (HH) program is designed for students to receive an Associates of Arts Degree in Indigenous Science with an emphasis in Human Health. The HH track explores health and society through Anishinaabeg perspectives. With a strong focus on psychology, math, chemistry, and more.
IS Information Technology- A.A.
The Information Technology (IT) program is designed for students to receive an Associate of Arts Degree in Indigenous Science with an emphasis in IT. The IT track offers knowledge and experience in computer systems, programming, data management, computer forensics, and much more through classroom and co-curricular opportunities.
Electrical Technician Certificate
The program offers an industry-recognized curriculum providing the basic knowledge and skills in applied electrical theory; residential wiring, blueprint reading, construction safety, and The National Electrical Code. Students gain valuable electrical experience through coursework, lab instruction, and hands-on work.
Liberal Education – A.A.
The Liberal Education program is a two-year course of study designed intentionally as an exploration of and exposure to many disciplines, development of a wide breadth of understanding of liberal education and preparation for transfer to four-year institutions.
Ojibwe Language
Epiitendaagwak Ojibwemowin is designed to preserve and revitalize knowledge and understanding of Ojibwemowin. Epiitendaagwak Ojibwemowin (that is how much the language is valued/worth)
Residential Carpentry Diploma
The program coursework will provide the student with a mix of technical and general education, theory and hands-on learning experiences. General areas of study include building codes, blueprint reading, estimating, site building-science layout, concrete, framing, and interior & exterior finish.
Integrated Residential Builder A.A.S.
This program integrates building science applications for energy performance (Passivhaus, zero energy ready home-DOE, Energy Star Rated) and multidisciplinary approaches from ecology, agriculture, architecture and construction into a two-year program.
Early Childhood Education A.A.
The program will provide students with an opportunity to customize their educational background to fit the student’s future four-year Early Childhood Education major.
Indigenous Leadership – A.A.
The Indigenous Leadership program focuses on the people of the Leech Lake Reservation, their world view, culture, and knowledge. Providing skills to identify community concerns and then engage in community service.
IS Forest Ecology – A.A.
The IS Forest Ecology program is intended for students with an interest in plant communities, water, forestry, wildlife and fisheries and/or recreation management.
Law Enforcement A.A.S.
The Law Enforcement Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) is part of the Professional Peace Officer Education Program requirement for the Minnesota Peace Officer licensing standards. All course work is certified by the Minnesota Board of POST.
Business Management A.A.S.
The Business Management program prepares students in the process of developing the strategies, plans, procedures and policies that guide a business on both a day-to-day and long-term basis.
Indigenous Science – A.A.
The program will provide students with an opportunity to customize their educational background to fit the student’s future four year STEM major of choice. Graduates of the Associate in Arts Degree in Indigenous Science can transition into a four-year STEM Bachelor of Science degree.
