Aaniin and Welcome,
Welcome to the Office of Advancement and Public Affairs at Leech Lake Tribal College.
Our mission is to build meaningful relationships, strengthen community partnerships, increase public awareness, and secure resources that support the success of our students, the growth of our institution, and the advancement of our communities. Through fundraising, communications, public relations, alumni engagement, events, and strategic partnerships, we work to promote and sustain the mission of Leech Lake Tribal College.
Since its founding through the vision and leadership of Larry Aitken and many dedicated community members, Leech Lake Tribal College has remained committed to providing quality higher education grounded in Anishinaabe values. The generosity of donors, alumni, community partners, tribal nations, foundations, businesses, and advocates continues to help make educational opportunities possible for current and future generations of students.
Every gift, partnership, and act of support strengthens our ability to provide accessible, culturally grounded, and accredited education while advancing the Anishinaabe worldview and empowering lifelong learners, leaders, and stewards. Together, we are investing in student success, community prosperity, and the future of Indian Country.
We invite you to learn more about our programs, events, partnerships, and giving opportunities throughout our website. Whether you choose to attend an event, volunteer, advocate, or make a contribution, your support helps students find their place and achieve their goals.
Miigwech for your interest in and support of Leech Lake Tribal College.
Sincerely,
Ryan White,

Vision
Maximize public and private support for the Leech Lake Tribal College by promoting fulfillment of the college’s goals.
Mission
Support the Leech Lake Tribal College in becoming an educational and cultural leader among tribal colleges and universities.
7 Generations of Giving
The support you make will affect future generations of students. We are committed to ensuring your contribution sees the maximum return on investment. There are many ways to contribute to the college, including: student scholarships, capitol project funding, endowment or planned gift, and many more. No matter the method, your support will contribute to the success of the next generation of students.
Challenges
The Leech Lake Tribal College has seen tremendous growth since its founding in 1990. In 2005, LLTC relocated to its current campus, which includes modern classrooms, student services, and a library that serves both the college and the broader community. Despite these advancements, Tribal Colleges and Universities continue to face chronic federal underfunding and receive significantly less funding per student than other public institutions, creating ongoing challenges in meeting educational, workforce, and community needs.
LLTC campus is located on trust land, which is ineligible for state bonding funds which are received by LLTC’s state colleges and universities counterparts. In addition, the vast majority of LLTC students come from families near or below the poverty line; they need your continued support for scholarships to enable them to develop the education and skills they need to create a better life for themselves, their families, and most importantly our community.
