Leech Lake Tribal College encourages eligible members of the college community to participate in the electoral process and provides access to nonpartisan voter-registration information and resources. Students interested in registering to vote or updating their voter registration may access voter-registration information through the Minnesota Secretary of State.
Eligibility requirements, registration deadlines, voting locations, absentee voting requirements, and other election information are established by applicable federal, state, Tribal, and local election authorities.
Reminder to students regarding the eligibility criteria for voting under federal, state, and municipal law:
1. Only citizens of the United States may vote in federal elections (18 U.S.C. 611);
2. Voting more than once, including voting in two or more states, is prohibited under federal law (52 U.S.C. 10307(e));
3. Knowingly or willfully providing false information including relating to name, address, or period of residence in the voting district for the purpose of establishing eligibility to register or vote is prohibited under federal law (52 U.S.C. 10307(c)); and
4. In most states, individuals may only register to vote where they are domiciled, and they may not be domiciled in more than one place.

This state resource provides online registration, paper registration, Election Day registration, registration status checking, eligibility information, and information specifically for college students. Students may obtain a paper voter-registration form on campus in the Office of Student Services.

U.S. Election Assistance Commission: National Mail Voter Registration Form can be used to register to vote or update a name/address, subject to the applicable state instructions.
