Biography:
Stacie is the daughter of John Lyon, Karey Lyon, and Jerry Good, and she is the sister of fifteen siblings. She is the mother to one amazing son, three fantastic daughters, and two wonderful step-daughters. She has been blessed with many nieces and nephews. Stacie is the Behavioral Science Instructor at the Leech Lake Tribal College with responsibilities that include teaching Miikana (first-year experience course) and psychology courses. Prior to joining LLTC, Stacie worked in education and behavioral health at several organizations, including Boys & Girls Club of the Leech Lake Area, Lutheran Social Services, Minnesota Historical Society, Head Start, and Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. As a cultural instructor, Stacie provided training to children and professionals alike. Native American cultures and historical trauma were the most widely discussed, but she soon became interested in behavioral health research.

Stacie has a Master’s of Psychology degree with a specialization in Psychology of Culture. She obtained undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Indian Studies from Bemidji State University. She was recently a part of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium’s first-ever cohort of tribal college and university scholars that completed an Indigenous Research Methodology Graduate Certificate through Sitting Bull College in Standing Rock. When she is not working, Stacie enjoys spending time with her family, singing, and learning.
