We embrace the idea that the well-being of the community requires that those with wisdom impart their knowledge and skills through teaching, while it is also incumbent on the student to seek out that knowledge and wisdom.


Education offers the greatest opportunity for achieving a better life for you, your family, and your community, and Leech Lake Tribal College, by providing strong academic programs and student support services, is committed to helping you succeed in that pursuit.


During the past five years, Leech Lake Tribal College has built a new college campus, we have obtained accreditation through the North Central Association of the Higher Learning Commission, and our student enrollment has steadily increased. Leech Lake Tribal College offers strong academic programs and student support services to assist you, and our dedicated faculty and staff are eager to share their knowledge with you.


We know that you will find Leech Lake Tribal College meets your expectations of learning Anishinaabe Culture and Language at the same time prepare you for the work force or transfer to a 4-year University.

Leech Lake Tribal College currently has Articulation Agreements with Bemidji State University and University of North Dakota at Grand Forks for academic programs; and Metropolitan State University and Hibbing Community College for our Law Enforcement Program.


Monday Drum/Potluck

In the Anishinaabe spirit of giving, each Monday throughout the school year Leech Lake Tribal College staff and faculty pitch in to provide a delicious, healthy meal – free of charge – to everyone on campus. The LLTC drum is always present at these gatherings, singing songs to provide strength for the coming week.

AISES

The mission of the LLTC AISES chapter is to weave together the language and the culture of the Anishinaabe people with science and mathematics to create a scientific or technological professional grounded in the values and traditions of their indigenous ancestors.


AIHEC – American Indian Higher Education Consortium

AIHEC is the collective spirit and unifying voice of our nation's Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). AIHEC provides leadership and influences public policy on American Indian higher education issues through advocacy, research, and program initiatives; promotes and strengthens Native American languages, cultures, communities and tribal nations; and through its unique position, serves member institutions and emerging TCUs.

A consortium is an association of two or more individuals, companies, organizations or governments (or any combination of these entities) with the objective of participating in a common activity or pooling their resources for achieving a common goal.


Learning Center

Boozhoo! Welcome to the Learning Center. Our goal is to provide support services for all students and faculty at Leech Lake Tribal College. We hope to illuminate some pathways to success, enrich students' post-secondary experiences, and deepen their educational satisfaction. Through group study sessions, workshops, and one-on-one tutoring with both peer and professional tutors, we are committed to enhancing opportunities here at Leech Lake Tribal College.


Student Senate

The Student Senate is the central organization for the student body. It is the advocate for the interests of the student body as a whole to the Leech Lake Tribal College administration and faculty, and promotes student participation in the governance system. The Student Senate's official blog can be found at http://lltcstudentsenate.blogspot.com.
