Accolades Continue To Roll In for Lakers View Full Blog


With the regular season completed the Woman’s and Men’s Lakers team took the floor at Oak Hills Christian College for the end of the year Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) Tournament. The tournament was held over the weekend in Bemidji at the spacious Oak Hills gym. The weekend ended with the Woman’s and Men’s teams defeating AFLBS (Association Free Lutheran Bible School) to take third place and cap off a successful inaugural season.

 The accolades off the court continue to roll in for the first ever teams in Leech Lake Tribal College history. The Lady Lakers placed three players on the All-Conference Team. Danielle Staples 21ppg (Cass Lake-Bena 10), Justine Jourdain 10 ppg (Cass Lake-Bena 13) Sam Rambeau 15ppg (Fernley 09) The Men’s Team also placed three players on the All-Conference Team. Kyle Raisch 12ppg 12 rpg (Cass Lake-Bena 99), Brandon Masten 15ppg (Cass Lake-Bena 99) and Martin Wind 21 ppg (Cass Lake-Bena 10). In addition to the All-Conference selections the Laker’s took home the NIAC Player of the Year in Martin Wind and the NIAC Coach of the Year for Coach Brady Fairbanks.
